EU paying agency

The Paying Agency grants subsidies on behalf of the EU. The Paying Agency within DLG works independently of the rest of the service. This division of functions is important because DLG has to evaluate projects as an independent party. As an EU Paying Agency, DLG has to comply with the many technical, financial and administrative rules and regulations of the EU and the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. Transparency and standardisation play an important role, but quality is the top priority. DLG is certified annually as a Paying Agency

International

DLG has been active in almost all the new EU Member States, providing advice on how to set up a Paying Agency. DLG advises on both the substantive completion of procedures and on the cross-compliance conditions organizations must meet to be a properly functioning Paying Agency. Aspects such as human resources management, ‘being in control’ and management of change are essential to the establishment of a sound Paying Agency. Among other things, DLG has been involved in twinning projects with the EU paying agencies in Malta and Latvia.
